WaterColor's architecture mixes English, Dutch, Spanish, and French Colonial influences, favoring wraparound porches and metal roofing over any single locked-in style, so gutter and roofing work here has to fit whatever style a given home was actually built in rather than one blanket code. The community borders Western Lake, a roughly 200-acre coastal dune lake shared with neighboring Grayton Beach State Park, which shapes drainage planning on lake-adjacent lots. The WaterColor Inn just finished a full renovation of its 60 rooms between October 2023 and spring 2024, a sign the community keeps investing in its built environment even 25-plus years after opening.
